Challenge
Modern agriculture demands targeted, smart irrigation to conserve water. Existing sprinkler heads couldn't achieve optimal angled flow to reach all plants precisely — leading to water waste and uneven coverage.
Approach
Designed and printed the sprinkler head using SLA technology with precise fluid channels and complex internal cavities. The angles and internal chambers were engineered so water sprays exactly to the right points, and the design flexibility allowed rapid iterations to improve performance.
Outcome
The printed head enabled targeted irrigation that saved a significant amount of water. Development at our facility dramatically accelerated the product's evolution, and the flexibility for changes was invaluable to the client. Filed as a patent in the US and China and is about to be released to market.
